April Goals

April, what’s up! I feel like this year is just playing one big joke on me – seriously, time is flying by. I say this every year, but the first 2 quarters of the year always go by so quickly, and then the last 2 quarters go on and on forever, it seems.

I’m excited to debrief my goals from last month and to share this month’s goals!

March Goals Review

  • Wake up at 5:15am on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays to work on my blog.
  • Publish 3 blog posts a week.
  • Try one new recipe.
  • Keep my planner/Trello updated + use it everyday.
  • Be in the moment during our trip to Orlando’s Universal Studios + the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Overall, I did well with reaching my March goals. I published 11 blog posts (2.75/week average), not to mention I made an idiot, rookie mistake and ruined my image library for a solid 3 days before figuring out how to back-up my blog. Anywho, I also tried a new Inspiralized recipe, the Spicy Seafood-Chorizo Paella made with carrot rice in lieu of actual rice (it was very tasty!). I also had the time of my life when we went to Orlando’s Universal Studios (Islands of Adventure + Harry Potter World). Seriously, I threw all inhibitions to the wind and enjoyed myself like I was 10 years old again. For most of the trip, the weather was 90 degrees, sunny, and perfect.

Now, what I’m still working on: consistently getting up early to blog! I was doing much better at this in January/February, but Cesar and I have been binge-watching The Blacklist on Netflix and staying up late to do so, which makes me a zombie in the morning. Last night, I was proud of myself for putting my foot down and telling myself that I had to be in bed by 10:30pm, and I was in bed at 10:30pm! I’m also still figuring out the best channel for keeping my to-do list up to date. I use Trello at work, and I created a personal to-do list board for myself, but I’m much more of a pen and paper kind of girl, so I prefer a planner. I need to just bite the bullet and buy the smaller version of the Uncalendar, since the one I have now is just too big for what I need. 

So, that’s that. Now, what’s happening in April?

April Goals

  • Wake up at 5:15am on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays to work on my blog.

  • Read 10 pages of a book before bed (my choice, for pleasure).
  • Tidy up my apartment (think: dusting, sweeping, organizing) each weekend. 
  • Finally post all of my clothing up on ebay and poshmark.
  • Donate the books I don’t love/cherish to the library.

See a theme here? Spring cleaning and purging is real this time of year, ya’ll! Also, I don’t know if I mentioned that March was the kick-off of my 5 months of weekend travel! Yes, that’s right – each month, from March to July, I have a weekend trip planned (for various occasions). This month, my boyfriend and I are visiting his sister and brother-in-law in Salt Lake City. I’ve never been there before, so any recommendations on things to do/great places to eat will be appreciated!
