August Goals

How’s everyone’s August been so far? It’s been unusually nice this August – not too hot, kind of rainy – definitely atypical for the East Coast. I’ve really been enjoying this kind of weather!

This past weekend, my boyfriend and I had a handful of friends over for dinner, drinks, and a belated birthday celebration for one of our friends, Emily. My other friend, Ali brought a gluten AND dairy-free chocolate cake. Now, when she told me it was gluten and dairy-free, I was skeptical at how good it could be, but oh my goodness. It stopped me in my tracks! It was unbelievably delicious. Shout out to By the Way Bakery on the Upper West Side for the most amazing cake I’ve had in ages.

I’ve really been enjoying the process of setting mind-body-soul goals each month. It makes goal-setting so much easier! Before I was wrestling with 5-6 goals a month, really about anything, and now it’s a much more streamlined and effective way to prioritize my time.

July Goals in Review

1. Be the expert.
2. Drink 8 glasses or 64 oz. of water a day.
3. Create a freebie section for MIM.

Alright, let’s talk about these goals. Overall, I feel pretty good about the results from my July goals. Each day, I have work to build my expertise within my professional role. It’s a constant work-in-progress, but it’s coming along. I did much, much better with drinking more water throughout July and this month! Having an easy to use water bottle filler at NYU (where the summer program I’m leading is being hosted) has been really beneficial for my water intake. In regards to my freebie section of MIM, I have begun creating my freebies, and after doing a ton of research, I bought the Essential Grid plugin (affiliate link) to be able to seamlessly design the freebie section of my website. Before I had the Essential Grid plugin, it literally worked for hours trying to figure out how to build a freebie section, but this plugin has made the process a million times faster, and I’m pumped to get my freebie page published soon!

August Goals

  1. Control my thought patterns more effectively (I’m talking more in depth about this in a post later this week).
  2. Hit my 10,000 step goal every day during the week.
  3. Have all mentors from the Startup Summer program get thank you notes from the high school student entrepreneurs.

Those are my mind-body-soul goals for August! What are you working on this month? How are you holding yourself accountable to your goals? Tell us in the comments below.
